Born into a traditional textile weaving community, Mr. Ramanathan’s career began in 1975 when he joined his family’s business, Premier Products, which became the first manufacturer of surgical gauze in India. With the rise of globalization in 1984, he expanded operations, turning the business into one of the world’s leading exporters of gauze materials, eventually accounting for 75% of the global gauze supply.

In November 1984, Janani International was launched to focus on high-quality cotton dust sheets, leading to strong partnerships with the UK market with consistent exports of one container per day.
